The DuPage County Historical Museum educates the general public through the collection, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of materials documenting the history of DuPage County and its relationship to Illinois and the nation.

The DuSable Museum of African American History is dedicated to the Collection, Documentation, Preservation, Study and Dissemination of the History and Culture of Africans and Americans of African Descent.

Edwardsville Children’s Museum is a hands-on museum where children interact, explore, and have fun exploring exhibit spaces including the City Library, City Police Department with Crime Lab, Education Garden, and others.

Since 2010, the Effingham Performance Center, operated by the not for profit organization Arts Connection of Central Illinois (ACCI), has brought a variety of entertainment for all ages and interests.

Elmhurst Art Museum has exhibitions of contemporary art, modern architecture including one of Mies van der Rohe’s houses.

The Elmhurst History Museum presents a look at the history of Elmhurst, and the role of Chicago in American culture. The permanent collection includes more than 15,000 three-dimensional artifacts.

Learn about the primary immigrant groups that settled in southwest Rockford with a visit to the Ethnic History Museum. The six galleries dedicated to African American, Hispanic, Irish, Italian, Lithuanian, and Polish immigrants.

The Evanston History Center preserves and interprets the rich history of Evanston and all its people through exhibits like “Milestones and Memories”, which uses artifacts and archival materials to tell the story.

Fermilab is America’s particle physics and accelerator laboratory. It brings the world together to solve the mysteries of matter, energy, space and time. Introductory guided and self-guided tours of the lab are offered.

The Field Museum is an exciting place to explore and learn—with a collection that represent over 4 billion years of natural history, helping visitors understand the origin and evolution of our planet, its life and cultures.

History comes to live at the Garfield Farm Museum. Tour guides are dressed in 1840s prairie dress, and will show groups the buildings and grounds, including the barns, gardens, and animal enclosures.

The General John A. Logan Museum celebrates one of the most noteworthy nineteenth century Americans to escape notice in the 20th and 21st centuries.
