Chazen Museum of Art is home to the second-largest collection of art in Wisconsin, offering rotating exhibits from a collection of over 20,000 works.

Henry Vilas Zoo is a 28-acre public zoo, home to over 650 animals from all over the world and features over 115 species, 20 of which are considered endangered and vulnerable.

The Madison Children’s Museum that contains exhibits on the arts, sciences, history, culture, health, and civic engagement. The museum believe in: Play, Integrity, Creativity, Collaboration, Risk, Inclusiveness, Learning, and Sustainability.

The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, formerly known as the Madison Art Center, is dedicated to exhibiting, collecting, and preserving modern and contemporary art including drawings, prints, and photographs to large-scale sculptures, paintings, and installations.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens is a 16 acre outdoor botanical garden and 10,000-square-foot tropical conservatory, a rose garden & a gilded Thai pavilion. Every day there are opportunities to explore and celebrate the natural wonders of plants.

The L.R. Ingersoll Physics Museum focus on hands-on exhibits with more than 50 exhibits on topics that cover mechanics, fluid mechanics, waves and sound, Thermodynamics, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics & Color and Modern Physics.

The Wisconsin State Capitol houses both chambers of the Wisconsin legislature along with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and the Office of the Governor. Visit the State Capitol to experience the rich history of Wisconsin’s diverse ethnic heritage on a free guided tour, or explore on your own.

The UW–Madison Geology Museum is a geology and paleontology museum that includes exhibits on rocks and minerals that glow, fossils, a model of a Wisconsin cave, dinosaurs, meteorites and more.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum is a teaching and research facility of the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the site of historic research in ecological restoration.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve is a 300-acre nature reserve along 4 miles of the southern shore of Lake Mendota. Field trips to the  Preserve can be an important part of their curricula, treating it as an extension of the classroom learning.

The Wisconsin Science Museum connects visitors to the research happening right here in Wisconsin. Through our hands-on experiences and unique historic instruments, we show that even the greatest scientific discoveries began with simple questions and a little determination.
