George Washington Birthplace National Monument is located in the Northern Neck of Virginia. It encompasses 551 acres of the former Popes Creek Plantation, the American ancestral home of the Washington Family where George Washington was born.

Make history come alive by bringing your class to Historic Christ Church & Museum, where students explore life in colonial Virginia. Step back in time with these engaging, hands-on programs.

Located in one of the oldest buildings in Kilmarnock, the Museum hosts locals artifacts and displays relating to Kilmarnock’s history, from the Town’s story from its early days in the 1700’s until today!

The Museum at Colonial Beach, housed in one of the Town’s oldest structures, features permanent and changing exhibits, personal collections, photos, and artifacts that tell the stories and preserve the history of our beloved town.
