The 1812 Homestead Farm and Museum teaches farmstead life in 1812 as guests do farm chores and learn trades. The educational experiences include collecting maple syrup, candle-making, cooking on a hearth, and more.

The Adirondack History Museum teaches Essex County’s past and shares stories about the roots and values of its people. Topic include early farming, frontier life, wilderness exploration, logging, mining, art and more.

At the Akwesasne Cultural Center includes a museum and library where visitors can view exhibits, objects and photographs about the culture of the Mohawk people of Akwesasne.

The Dr. Frank A. Revetta Planetarium at SUNY Potsdam offers free educational programs, including popular planetarium shows and a series of seismology workshops.

The International American Maple Museum Centre was founded in 1977 to preserve the history and evolution of the North American maple syrup industry. Exhibits depict the history of maple syrup and sugar making techniques.

At the John Brown Farm State Historic Site, guests see the home and final resting place of Brown. Guests view his family’s graveyard as well as his farmhouse, barn, and caretaker’s house.

Lake Placid Center for the Arts is one of upstate New York’s largest art centers, showcasing theater, dance, and music of various genres.

At the Lake Placid Olympic Museum, explore Olympic history in Lake Placid through a large collection of materials. View artifacts, photographs, and videos and learn about the cultural differences of different hosts while moving through exhibits.

The New York State Zoo at Thompson Park teaches guests about conservation, education and scientific study. Natural-world experiences are created through up-close encounters with animals that only reside in New York State.

At the North Star Underground Railroad Museum, visitors learn about fugitives from slavery and their gateway to freedom.
