Fermilab is America’s particle physics and accelerator laboratory. It brings the world together to solve the mysteries of matter, energy, space and time. Introductory guided and self-guided tours of the lab are offered.

The Field Museum is an exciting place to explore and learn—with a collection that represent over 4 billion years of natural history, helping visitors understand the origin and evolution of our planet, its life and cultures.

History comes to live at the Garfield Farm Museum. Tour guides are dressed in 1840s prairie dress, and will show groups the buildings and grounds, including the barns, gardens, and animal enclosures.

The General John A. Logan Museum celebrates one of the most noteworthy nineteenth century Americans to escape notice in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Graue Mill and Museum, the only operating waterwheel grist mill and homestead in the Chicago area, is dedicated to maintaining a bridge between past and present.

At the Greater Saint Louis Air and Space Museum, learn about the world of aviation through activities and aircraft exhibits. The Museum focuses on all aspects of aerospace history, preserves and displays historic air and space craft.

The Henson Robinson Zoo is home to over 300 animals of 90 different species. Enjoy a day of animal fun with zoo animals native to Australia, Africa, Asia and North American and South America.

The Herbert Trackman Planetarium is dedicated to continuing its tradition of outstanding astronomical instruction and entertainment. Their planetarium has a 30 ft diameter dome and a new OmniStar Digital planetarium projector.

Step back in time to farm life from decades past. 18.6 acre Historic Wagner Farm is open to the public for recreation and learning. The farm provides a unique opportunity to learn about farming heritage and experience first-hand “the way things used to be.”

Immerse your students and scouts in authentic history with a visit to the Illinois Amish Museum. After watching an 18-minute video, groups can see permanent exhibits about Anabaptist history, Amish history and culture.

Ever since moving the capital from Vandalia to Springfield, the city has been home to many Illinois governors. Group tours of the mansion can be booked through the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).  

The Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center honors the memories of those who were lost by teaching universal lessons that combat hatred, prejudice and indifference.
