Actively engage in history at the New-York Historical Society, New York’s first museum, where groups explore U.S. history through a New York lens.

Housed in an historic 1936 subway station, the New York Transit Museum is the nation’s largest museum devoted to public transportation history and includes exhibitions, tours, and educational programs.

The museum of sculptor Isamu Noguchi features a mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits, a serene outdoor sculpture garden, and two floors of interior space.

Visit Pelham Bay Park Nature Center to take part in activities such as seal and owl watches, nature photography, trail hikes, and more.

The Constance Laibe Hays Children’s Room at Poets House offers opportunities for children to experience poetry, attend unique performances, and participate in creating poetry, art, music, and dance.

At Queens Botanical Garden, groups can enjoy this 39-acre urban oasis, which contains thematic gardens and historic plantings; as well as gardens demonstrating sustainable landscape practices.

Revive historic farming activities at Queens County Farm Museum, NYC’s largest remaining tract of undisturbed farmland. Groups can tour the historic farm buildings, pick apples and pumpkins, and learn about the art of quilting and colonial cooking.

Randall’s Island Salt Marsh & Freshwater Wetlands explores the natural surroundings. Using magnifying glasses, binoculars, fishnets, and traps, groups can investigate the many animals and plants.

The history of farming on Randall’s Island dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Most of the land became a public park in the 1930s, and today Randall’s Island Urban Farm is used for agricultural education.

Learn about where food comes from at Red Hook Community Farm, a former baseball field turned urban farm. Groups take part in a tour of the farm, plant exploration, and service-learning activities.
