West Virginia Mine Wars Museum

The West Virginia Mine Wars Museum exhibits focus on coal camp life, the Paint Creek-Cabin Creek Strike of 1912-1913, the Matewan Massacre, the Miners’ March, and the Battle of Blair Mountain.

West Virginia Public Theatre

In partnership with the College of Creative Arts of West Virginia University, the West Virginia Public Theatre brings audiences professional theater performances year after year which includes student matinees.

West Virginia State Capitol

Groups can take a guided tour of the West Virginia State Capitol. On the grounds they will see the statues of Abraham Lincoln and Stonewall Jackson. Groups can also take a self-guided tour of the three galleries where they can observe legislative floor sessions.

West Virginia State Farm Museum

The West Virginia State Farm Museum is dedicated to the Preservation of West Virginia Farm Life Heritage. The museum features log cabins and an early farmhouse, an operational 19th century blacksmith shop, turn-of-the-century doctor’s and newspaper offices.

The West Virginia State Wildlife Center is a modern zoological facility displaying native and introduced state wildlife. The Wildlife Center is dedicated to presenting visitors a realistic and factual understanding of the state’s wildlife.

West Virginia University Planetarium

The West Virginia University Planetarium offers free, public planetarium shows. The WVU Observatory, equipped with a 14 inch Celestron telescope, is open for public viewing on the same evening as the planetarium shows.

Wonderment Puppet Theater
