Encore Stage & Studio mission is to build life-long appreciation for live theater by involving young people in all aspects of theater arts — onstage, backstage, in the classroom, and in the audience.

At the Fort Ward Museum & Historic site, groups can visit one of the Union forts that were built to protect Washington, DC during the Civil War. Living history activities allow groups to understand what daily life was like for a Union soldier in the Civil War.

Comprised of four major American Civil War battlefields and historic sites, the Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park, visitors explore exhibits, view an orientation film, or go on a guided walking tour of the battlefields.

FAM’s exhibits focus on regional art, culture, and history. Programs cover the Virginia Indians, 18th-century life, the American Civil War, Civil Rights, and more. See its virtual exhibitions.

Visit the Freedom House Museum, a former headquarters of a 19th-century domestic slave-trading firm, which transported 1,800 slaves to Mississippi and Louisiana each year.

Frying Pan Farm Park preserves and interprets farm life of the 1920s to 1950s. Visitors learn about traditional farm family roles and how they compare to modern family roles.

Step inside 18th century Virginia at Gadsby Tavern Museum. The Tavern was a place for politics, social life, and business in early Alexandria, Virginia.

George Washington Birthplace National Monument is located in the Northern Neck of Virginia. It encompasses 551 acres of the former Popes Creek Plantation, the American ancestral home of the Washington Family where George Washington was born.

Mount Vernon was the plantation of George Washington, the first President of the United States, and his wife, Martha Washington. The estate is situated on the banks of the Potomac River

Glazenfyre is a paint-it-yourself pottery studio that now offers fusible glass and canvas painting. We have a large, brightly lit studio for visitors to find their inner artist.
