The Information Age Science and History Museum and Learning Center is to preserve, educate, and honor scientific innovation and history to inspire new generations of thinkers and visionaries. 

J.A. McFaul Environmental Center features bird shelters, a nature trail, a pond, the sugar shack, flowering trees & nature exhibits. Visitors learn about various habitats on guided walks, dinosaur extinction, and the world of honeybees.

The Jacob Vanderveer House & Museum was originally the headquarters for Gen. Henry Knox and played a pivotal role during the American Revolution. Visitors experience what Dutch-Colonial life was like in the 18th century.

Guided tours of the James Rose Center are available for large and small groups of the headquartered at what was formerly the home of landscape architect James Rose.

At the Jersey Explorer Children Museum young learners explores history, culture, and science on their own!  Displays offer true-to-life, interactive exhibits.

Jockey Hollow is the site of the Continental Army’s winter encampment of 1779-80. The land served Washington’s men as they chopped down over 600 acres of trees for heat and shelter.

At Lakota Wolf Preserve, see Tundra, Timber, and Arctic wolves—and possibly even bobcats and foxes—in their natural habitat during a Wolf Watch tour of the preserve!

Liberty State Park features exhibits and programs focusing on the natural history and ecology of the Hudson River Estuary. Visit for spectacular views, interpretive programs, and miles of trails suited to recreational activities.

The Long Pond Ironworks Museum is a former country store in the area that were known to house 19th-century ironwork enterprises. It is part of the 175-acre historic district.

Longo Planetarium provides programs for every grade level, and follow the New Jersey science standards. All programs begin with a live tour of the night sky given by astronomer, Christopher Fenwick. The featured presentation will follow.

The Lorrimer Sanctuary‘s main house has an exhibit and lecture room, a winter bird feeding station, interpretive displays, and hands-on exhibits. The property has fourteen acres of land, with a self guiding trail winding through.

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center focus is the rescue and rehabilitation of marine mammals in NJ. Their exhibits include life-sized replicas of marine mammals, pollution displays, & “Please Touch” display.
