Monocacy National Battlefield is the site of one of the largest battles of the Civil War. The campaign to take Washington was ultimately foiled by the delaying tactics of Lew Wallace and his men at Monocacy.

The Montgomery College Planetarium teaches everyone about the “oldest science” through its astronomy courses, planetarium programs, talks, and shows.

The Mount Washington Arboretum showcases native plants and features a pond with waterfall, interpretive signs, tiles created by children from the Mt. Washington School, two green roofs, a mural, and more.

National Capital Radio & Television Museum preserves radio and television history. Its collection includes  vintage radios and televisions, as well as an extensive collection of related literature, artifacts, and media.

The National Museum of Health and Medicine preserves, collects, and interprets the objects, specimens, photographs, and documents chronicling the history and practice of medicine over the centuries.

The National Wildlife Visitor Center is an environmental education center providing visitors with opportunities to explore and learn. Attractions include environmental exhibits, interactive kiosk, pollinator garden and more.

The Norton Simon Museum is an art museum. Its collection includes European masterworks from the Renaissance to the 20th century, and a collection of South and Southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years and numerous sculptures on its grounds.

At the Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum learn about the history of Ocean City and about the U.S. Life Saving Service and the tools that were used to rescue mariners in distress. There is also an aquarium with interactive exhibits.

At the Ocean City Museum visitors travel back in time to join the heroic surfmen of the US Life-Saving Service on a rescue mission. The museum holds many fascinating tales of Ocean City’s history.

The Old Town Bowie Welcome Center and Interactive Children’s Museum has hands on activities for children, and exhibits on the history of Old Bowie and its past as a close-knit local railroad community.

Oregon Ridge Nature Center is a certified Maryland Green Center focused on promoting environmental stewardship and offering quality environmental education programs.

The diverse history of Maryland and its national heritage can be experienced at Oxon Cove Park. Explore how the park evolved from a plantation home during the War of 1812, to a hospital farm, to the park you can visit today.
