The Baltimore American Indian Center Museum introduces the stories of the experiences, cultures, and histories of the original inhabitants of Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.

In operation since 1966, the Community College of Baltimore County Benjamin Banneker Planetarium is a classroom-sized facility that hosts free shows for student and scout groups throughout the spring and fall.

Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary is a 100-acre nature sanctuary and is a protected home to native wildlife and the only large stand of the trees on the western shore of Maryland.

Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is home to an incredible amount of plant and animal diversity in its three major habitats of forest, marsh, and shallow water.

Brookside Gardens is a 50-acre public display featuring aquatic, azalea, rose, Japanese-style, rain, and children’s gardens, a butterfly exhibit, and a woodland walk. Its two conservatories offer year-round enjoyment.

At Butler Farm visitors explore seasonal activities from strawberry bloom tours in the spring to pick-your own pumpkins in the fall to cut your own Christmas tree in December.

The Calvert Marine Museum combines pre-history, natural history, and maritime heritage to tell a unique story of the Chesapeake Bay.

At the Carrie Murray Nature Center, visitors explore Baltimore’s diverse natural environment in the meadows, marshlands, and wetlands. Nature programs focus on watershed, stream conservation, recycling, plant and tree identification.

See a real, working farm during the spring, fall, or winter and enjoy seasonal activities, hayrides and farm animal visits at Chapel Hills Farm and Nursery. In the Fall pick-your-own pumpkins and in December make your own door sway.

Preserving America’s early transportation history, the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal began as a dream of passage to Western wealth. Today it endures as a pathway for discovering historical, natural, and recreational treasures.

The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center is a 510 acre wildlife preserve that showcases pristine habitat and restoration efforts. Activities at the environmental center include birding, kayaking, hiking, and geocaching.
