Originally started to hold the Chicago Academy’s growing scientific collection, today the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum has hands-on animal and art exhibits that will bring out the naturalist in anybody.

The Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum provides children with the tools and inspiration they need to be explorers and creators of the world.

Peoria Riverfront Museum focuses on interdisciplinary learning – a fusion of art, history, science and achievement designed to develop knowledge, critical thinking skills and a lifelong passion for learning. 

Philips Park Zoo focuses on native animals with exhibits that include river otters, great horned owls, llamas and pygmy goats, gray wolves, farmyard animals (like ducks, geese and swans, bald eagles) and reptiles.

The Plum Creek Nature Center offers visitors a place to explore the natural world, with hands-on exhibits and interactive play elements.
