Niabi Zoo has over 600 animals representing 200 species from around the world, all encompassed on more than 40 acres of picturesque forest preserve.

Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens is the third largest conservatory in Illinois, offering an 11,000-square-foot plant exhibition area complete with water features, seating areas, and sculptures, all in a tropical plant setting.

Peck Farm Park is a unique park found in an urban environment. 358 acres feature a history gallery, butterfly house, playground, sensory garden, nature trails, and more.

Originally started to hold the Chicago Academy’s growing scientific collection, today the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum has hands-on animal and art exhibits that will bring out the naturalist in anybody.

The Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum provides children with the tools and inspiration they need to be explorers and creators of the world.

Peoria Riverfront Museum focuses on interdisciplinary learning – a fusion of art, history, science and achievement designed to develop knowledge, critical thinking skills and a lifelong passion for learning. 

Philips Park Zoo focuses on native animals with exhibits that include river otters, great horned owls, llamas and pygmy goats, gray wolves, farmyard animals (like ducks, geese and swans, bald eagles) and reptiles.

The Plum Creek Nature Center offers visitors a place to explore the natural world, with hands-on exhibits and interactive play elements.

The Rader Family Farm started as a dairy farm before growing into a grain farm with over 30 acres of pumpkins, gourds, and sweet corn. Visiting the farm will help bridge the gap between city and country for visiting youth groups.
