Children's Museum of the Ohio Valley

Children’s Museum of the Ohio Valley strives to stimulate the creativity and imaginations of young learners through interactive play. Exhibits at CMOV include a kid-friendly rock-climbing wall, a circuitry makeshop, soft play areas, woodworking makeshop and more.

Cool Spring Nature Preserve

Cool Spring Nature Preserve consists of 32 acres of forest, meadow, and marsh. Bullskin Run, a major stream with significant historical value, borders one side of the preserve. Cool Spring is designated as a “birding hotspot.”

Cooper Family Farms

Core Arboretum

West Virginia University’s Core Arboretum is a 91-acre forest on a hillside near the Monongahela River. Flowers include trout lilies, celandine poppies, bloodroot, Dutchman’s breeches, plume lilies, and more.

Country Road House and Berries

On a tour of Country Road House and Berries groups will learn how agriculture affects their everyday lives and a little West Virginia history. Country Road House offers spring strawberry tours, summer dig and takes, and fall strawberry planting tours.

Delf Norona Museum

The Delf Norona Museum with its natural brick facade and pyramid-shaped skylights is an architectural tribute to a prehistoric era. Exhibits portray what is known about the cultural life of the Adena people and the Grave Creek Mound.

Eidolon Nature Preserve

The 354-acre Eidolon Nature Preserve is located along the summit and east side of Sideling Hill. The preserve features dense mountaintop forests, several ground-fed natural springs, and commanding views of the Potomac River.

Erma Byrd Art Gallery

The Erma Byrd Gallery showcases the art of the women of West Virginia. The gallery was established by Dr. Janet Welch, the wife of the University of Charleston’s President Edwin Welch, as a tribute to Senator Robert Byrd’s wife Erma.
