Bring your education group to the Blackfriars Playhouse, the world’s first re-creation of Shakespeare’s indoor theatre. Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial is the nation’s memorial to Robert E. Lee, honoring him for specific reasons including his role in promoting peace and reunion after the Civil War.

Arlington National Cemetery honors events and members from all branches of the military, and also pays respect to astronauts, nurses, chaplains, war correspondents, just to name a few.

Back Home on the Farm offers educational fun – meet farm animals, plant in the spring, earthworms in the summer, pick pumpkins and explore the corn maze in the fall, and much more.

Berkely Plantation, one of the first plantations in America, comprises about 1,000 acres on the banks of the James River. The tour examines the social standards and education of boys and girls in the Virginia colony. Students will explore the life of colonial times and compare the colonial lifestyle to that of life in the 21st century.

At the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia learn about and celebrate African American history. Through documents, artifacts, pictures, and audio, the Museum preserves black history in Virginia.

The 60-acre Bluebird Gap Farm is designed to resemble a working farm, petting zoo and features farm animals and fowl of all types, and wild animals native to Virginia.

Boxerwood has unusual and rare trees and shrubs, and a learning laboratory with 400 + species of trees and shrubs. Get up close and personal with nature and definitely plan to get dirty at the Children’s Play Trail!

Branch Museum of Architecture and Design’s  purpose is to inspire our visitors to discover their role in advancing design for the public good — design that creates connections, improves lives and strengthens communities.

At Brookdale Farm, visitors enjoy a day of picking juicy strawberries and medium sized pumpkins when they are in season, as well as visiting the farm animals.

The Carlyle House served as the headquarters of British General Braddock during the French and Indian War, which is where he and five colonial governors planned their early campaigns.
