Fort Dobbs State Historic Site remains a unique glimpse into the pre-Revolutionary War period. The Fort served in the French and Indian War. Living history programs are available.

Fort Fisher State Historic Site was a Confederate fort during the American Civil War that protected the vital trading routes of the port at Wilmington. Costumed guided tours tell the story of this historic site.

Fort Raleigh National Historic Site preserves the location of Roanoke Colony, the first English settlement founded in 1587. Exhibits explore the settlements of Native Americans, European Americans, and African Americans.

The Frisco Native American Museum features artifacts from many North American tribes as well as the original inhabitants of Hatteras Island. The museum’s nature trails wind through several acres of beautiful maritime forest.

The Fuquay-Varina Museums Complex consists of five museums: The First Fuquay Post Office, the “Squire” Ballentine Schoolhouse, the Centennial Museum, the Tobacco Barn, and the Johnson Playhouse.

Galloway Farm’s programs include the Craze Maze, the Plant Nutrients through the Nutrients for Life Program, as well, as anti-bullying presentations through the Spookley Farm Program.

Gem Mountain features a variety of precious stones for your group to discover. The site offers tours of the new Hoot Owl Mine, as well as the Brushy Creek Aquamarine Mine. Groups can head over to the flume for panning.

Governor Charles B. Aycock Birthplace is the historic home of Charles B. Aycock, elected governor of North Carolina in 1900. Aycock dedicated himself to improving public education in North Carolina.
