The Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Museum offers exhibits of the Lab’s accomplishments featuring interactive exhibits, hands-on labs, and demonstrate basic scientific principles using the inquiry method of teaching.

At the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, your group can explore the 52-acre grounds, which contain an array of biomes, such as the desert and tropical pavilions and the outdoor gardens.

At the Brooklyn Bridge Park Environmental Education Center, explore the ecology of park, learn the history of the Brooklyn Bridge, explore the park’s rocks, and assess the health of the East River.

At the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, young learners can engage their senses in exhibits that explore Brooklyn neighborhoods and ecology, as well as learn about cultures through 29,000 historic artifacts.

Brooklyn Grange’s rooftop farms, located in Brooklyn and Queens, are perfect for hands-on learning about urban agriculture. Groups will also learn about helpful and harmful insects on a farm and the inner workings of bee colonies.

Explore the Brooklyn Historical Society’s collection of documents, artwork, and artifacts that bring to life the everyday experiences of Brooklynites from the past to the present.

The Buffalo History Museum teaches the relevance of Buffalo and Western NY in the development of the US and world. Tours can be tailored for student groups unique interests and self guided or with Museum docents.

Buffalo Museum of Science has collections pertaining to the Greater Niagara Region and the most complete record of the area in anthropology, botany, entomology, mycology, paleontology and zoology.

The Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village gives groups opportunities to learn about American life during the 1800s-2000s and the role of the Erie Canal in the Industrial Revolution. 

The Buffalo Zoo boasts 1,000 animals on 23 acres, including mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and animals in a children’s petting zoo. Youth groups will see exotic, endangered, and even local wildlife, enjoying a complete wildlife experience with educational tours and programs.

The Caleb Smith State Park Preserve Museum is in the Smith Family home built in 1751 where visitors and experience history. Their nature trails lead you through a variety of habitats typical of the north shore of Long Island.

Located on picturesque countryside in western Onondaga County, the Carpenter’s Brook Hook Hatchery was originally developed and operated as a joint venture between Onondaga County and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
