Assateague Island is a 37-mile long barrier island where visitors explore sandy beaches, salt marshes, maritime forests, view birds, wild horses and wild life. Rangers offer guided programs to learn more about the barrier island.

The B&O Railroad Museum allows visitors to see, touch, hear, and explore the most important railroad collection in America. Excursions are available.

The Ballet Theatre of Maryland blends mainstream American culture with classical and contemporary dance forms to create works that uplift, entertain, and inspire.

The Baltimore American Indian Center Museum introduces the stories of the experiences, cultures, and histories of the original inhabitants of Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.

In operation since 1966, the Community College of Baltimore County Benjamin Banneker Planetarium is a classroom-sized facility that hosts free shows for student and scout groups throughout the spring and fall.

Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary is a 100-acre nature sanctuary and is a protected home to native wildlife and the only large stand of the trees on the western shore of Maryland.

Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is home to an incredible amount of plant and animal diversity in its three major habitats of forest, marsh, and shallow water.

Brookside Gardens is a 50-acre public display featuring aquatic, azalea, rose, Japanese-style, rain, and children’s gardens, a butterfly exhibit, and a woodland walk. Its two conservatories offer year-round enjoyment.

At Butler Farm visitors explore seasonal activities from strawberry bloom tours in the spring to pick-your own pumpkins in the fall to cut your own Christmas tree in December.

At Calleva, groups will  learn about farm life, energy, water cycles, farm animals and forestry in a variety of environmental education workshops.

The Calvert Marine Museum combines pre-history, natural history, and maritime heritage to tell a unique story of the Chesapeake Bay.
