Historic Ships in Baltimore has one of the most impressive collections of military vessels in the world. Located within easy walking distance, four ships and a lighthouse exhibit life at sea from the mid-19th century to the mid-1980’s.

The James E. Lewis Museum’s permanent collection includes a variety of 19th- and 20th-century works. Programs encourage groups to think critically about the art on view.

The Jewish Museum of Maryland tells the story of the American Jewish experience in the city of Baltimore and Maryland. The Museum combines art, rare objects, historical photographs, oral histories, videos, and family friendly hands-on activities and exhibits.

Situated on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, Marshy Point offers stands of old and young forest, open meadows, freshwater wetlands, and a web of tidal creeks and marshes for visitors to enjoy and explore.

The Maryland Historical Society is the premier institution for state history. The museum features an incredible collection that celebrates Maryland’s rich and diverse history, from 18th- and 19th-century paintings and silver to 20th-century objects of everyday life.

With more than 200 different species, many of which are endangered, the Maryland Zoo offers groups up close encounters with a wide variety of animals allowing them to experience some of the planet’s many diverse species.

Masonville Cove is 70 acres of water and 54 acres of cleaned-up wetlands, nature trails, and a protected bird sanctuary. The Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center offers environmental programs.

The Mount Washington Arboretum showcases native plants and features a pond with waterfall, interpretive signs, tiles created by children from the Mt. Washington School, two green roofs, a mural, and more.

Port Discovery Children’s Museum offers three floors of interactive, educational exhibits and ever-changing programs for children ages birth through ten years.

Pride of Baltimore II was commissioned in 1988 as a sailing memorial to her immediate predecessor. Both ships were reproductions of 1812-era topsail schooners, the type of vessels, that helped America win the War of 1812.

The historical Rawlings Conservatory features five distinct greenhouse rooms, one 1/2-acre garden with many flower beds and a kaleidoscope of colors all year round.

The 82,000-square-foot Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History and Culture is dedicated to preserving history and retelling the stories of Maryland’s African American community.
