White Clay Creek State Park

The land that is today known as White Clay Creek State Park includes parts of the boundary line made famous by surveyors Mason and Dixon during Colonial America.

Wilmington & Western Railroad

The route of the original Wilmington & Western Railroad was laid in the early 1870s. Soon after, men and machines went to work moving goods and passengers through the Red Clay Valley.

Wilmington State Park

Zwaanendael Museum

Delaware’s first European settlement, Zwaanendael, founded 1631. The Zwaanendael Museum commemorates this first European colony, Swanendael, established by the Dutch. This museum serves as a showcase for the Lewes area’s maritime, military, and social history.
