Sutter's Fort State Historic Park

Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park founded by a Swiss immigrant, John Sutter. He received a land grant from the Mexican government and used the land to build an agricultural establishment. Special events and school programs are held monthly.

The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

The garden property includes canyons, wetlands, coastal bluffs, and a closed-cone pine forest. The Gardens has become a haven for bird watchers with the list of bird species now at more than 180.
