The Museum of the African Diaspora documents the history, art, and culture of the African diaspora. It spans the migration of Africans across history, from the diaspora at the origin of human existence through the contemporary African Diaspora around the world.

The New Americans Museum celebrates America’s past and promise, by providing inspiring educational and cultural programs to honor the diverse multigenerational immigrant experiences features immigration exhibits, an oral & visual history studio.

The Norton Simon Museum is an art museum. Its collection includes European masterworks from the Renaissance to the 20th century, and a collection of South and Southeast Asian art spanning 2,000 years and numerous sculptures on its grounds.

The Oakland Aviation Museum focuses on the role of historic North Field at Oakland International Airport, Oakland and the Bay Area in the development of aviation on the West Coast and in the US by collecting, preserving and interpreting aircraft and aviation artifacts.

Oakland Zoo has more than 850 native and exotic animals. Learn about birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and arthropods. Environmental education & conservation is the core of program. 

The OC Zoo is nestled among the majestic 477 acre wilderness park and focuses on animals and plants native to the southwestern United States. Many of our animals are injured and orphaned.

The Old Cactus Garden, in Balboa Park, was developed for the 1935 California Pacific International Exposition. It has some of the largest cactus and succulent specimens in the Park plus exotic African and Australian Protea plants.

At the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum explore California’s early days of education in a living replica of a traditional one-room schoolhouse with hands-on activities with costumed interpreters.

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is an open-air museum about local life in the 1800s, with historic adobe buildings & interpretive performances.
