FIELD TRIPS

Students of all ages explore the experiences of people living in Colonial Virginia at Gunston Hall. Kindergarten through second graders will compare life at Gunston Hall with their own lives in our Then & Now tour. The Step Into 18th Century Virginia tour, built for fourth through sixth grade students, examines the people who lived at Gunston Hall, the spaces they occupied, and the activities they did. Middle school students explore the colonial and early national world through economics and civics. High school students will experience George Mason and the Battle for Rights, as they examine his ideas and the struggle to create the Constitution. Tours can be made “extraordinary” for an additional fee, adding a storyteller, historic character, or hearth cook.
