In addition to guided tours, schools can take part in a three-visit program: Writing to Look, or Gallery and Studio Connections. With the help of writing and studio activities, these visits are a way for students to connect with the art in the galleries, and expand their visual vocabulary and knowledge of art making processes. The Modern

The Modern houses more than 3,000 pieces of post-war artwork, including mixed media artwork, photography, and paintings. Visitors can see highlights from modern and postmodern artists of the 1950s through the 1980s, rotating exhibits on contemporary and international artists, and film screenings. Docent-led public and group tours are offered.

– Vincent Van Gogh created over 2,000 works during his lifetime. However, he was only ever able to sell one of his paintings while he was alive.

– Leonardo Da Vinci was left-handed. He took notes from right-to-left instead of the English language standard left-to-right.

– Pablo Picasso was arrested and questioned regarding the theft of Mona Lisa in 1911. He was released without being charged.
