Hoyt Art Center

Located in the past home of the Hoyt family designed by architect Frank Faulke, Arts & Education at the Hoyt focuses on fine arts, art classes, exhibits, cultural festivals, and encourages an awareness of the arts. In addition to seeing art in the exhibits and participating in a variety of educational programs, groups can take a tour of the Tudor Revival style Period House, which features antiques, a 1900s clothes dryer, leaded glass windows, and more. Discounted rates are available for groups.

– Vincent Van Gogh created over 2,000 works during his lifetime. However, he was only ever able to sell one of his paintings while he was alive.

– Leonardo Da Vinci was left-handed. He took notes from right-to-left instead of the English language standard left-to-right.

– Pablo Picasso was arrested and questioned regarding the theft of Mona Lisa in 1911. He was released without being charged.
