ABOUT
Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve
Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve and Environmental Center is an education and conservation organization located on 609 acres in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. School, homeschool, camp and scout groups will enjoy guided trail hikes, stream studies, and forest explorations within this beautiful 609-acre preserve. Many field trip options are offered for learners of all ages: high school and college students may learn about promoting stewardship through a land ethic, while upper-elementary and middle schoolers can view macro-invertebrates up-close through the preserve’s “Bug TV.” School groups can also schedule an in-school “Animal Ambassadors” program or arrange a semester-long class conservation project.
Scout groups may choose to do any of the standard school group programs. In addition, we can offer programs designed specifically for your group that meet the requirements for any nature-related merit badges or patches. Live animal, and other auditorium -style presentations can be brought to your den or pack meeting location. Every year, sessions of our Maple Sugaring program are reserved specifically for scout groups.
