Charlotte Museum of History

The Charlotte Museum of History seeks to interpret the history of the Charlotte/Mecklenburg region. Groups can learn about the historic neighborhoods, culture, artifacts, and geography of the region. Field trips can also include tours of the 1774 historic Hezekiah Alexander House site, which features a log kitchen, springhouse, Backcountry Patriot statue, and the American Freedom Bell. Students, scouts, homeschoolers, and campers will see replicas of Colonial-era dwellings, historic photographs, period furnishings, and more in the museum’s continuing exhibits. The Charlotte Museum of History offers a variety of history programs and hosts several events on-site throughout the year.
