A Landfill Tour at the Georgetown County Landfill, brings awareness to the growing impacts that human solid waste production and management have on our environment. Visit the landfill, recycling center and nature center. Visitors will get a hands-on understanding of the importance of recycling and being good stewards of our environment.

Hahal Kadosh Beth Elohim is one of the fifth oldest Jewish congregations in the United States, and its synagogue is a national landmark. Volunteer docents lead tours exploring the historic Sanctuary and share its unique history.

Hampton Plantation State Historic Site in the Santee Delta region offers a look at colonial-era plantations in South Carolina.

Happy Cow Creamery is a dairy farm that features a bottling operation on-site. The farm produces whole, chocolate, strawberry milk and buttermilk.Tours are available.

This oceanfront preserve situated on an island with a series of elevated boardwalks and observation docks, seven acres of walking paths feature interpretive signage at dozens of stations, allowing visitors to observe the wide array of plants, animals, fish and bird species that can be discovered here.

Heyward-Washington House is a historic house museum and former home to Thomas Heyward, Jr., a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. Reservations are required for groups.

Visitors can explore the 1760s William Bratton House and 1800s McConnell house, with artifacts and period furnishings; a replica slave dwelling; an early 18th-century settler’s cabin. Seasonal events, reenactments, and demonstrations.

The IP Stanback Museum & Planetarium is located at South Carolina State University and features Sky-Skan Automation and the NASA Educator Resource Center.
