Georgetown County Environmental Center

A Landfill Tour at the Georgetown County Landfill, brings awareness to the growing impacts that human solid waste production and management have on our environment. Visit the landfill, recycling center and nature center. Visitors will get a hands-on understanding of the importance of recycling and being good stewards of our environment.

Heritage Shores Nature Preserve

This oceanfront preserve situated on an island with a series of elevated boardwalks and observation docks, seven acres of walking paths feature interpretive signage at dozens of stations, allowing visitors to observe the wide array of plants, animals, fish and bird species that can be discovered here.
