The John Jay Homestead is the retirement home of founding father John Jay and where he spent retirement. Guests of the home read, analyze, apply, synthesize, and evaluate historical information.

The John R. Kirk Planetarium at SUNY New Paltz provides educational programs, including shows. The Planetarium can provide special times and shows for teachers who wish to bring their classes.

Learn about art, society, and culture at the Katonah Museum of Art. Three exhibits are mounted each year in the 10,000-square-foot museum space. Exhibits feature sculpture, mixed media, paintings, installations and more.

At Kykuit, The Rockefeller Estate, visitors enjoy the fine furnishings and the view of the Hudson as well as art galleries and gardens from this grand estate that was once home to the richest man in America.

The heart of the estate is an Italianate villa designed in 1851 for artist and inventor Samuel Morse by architect A. J. Davis. Today Locust Grove, with miles of carriage roads, landscaped grounds, historic gardens and Hudson River views, is open to the public.

McEnroe Organic Farm seeks to inspire people of all ages to understand the environmental, social, and economic relationship between food production and consumption.

The Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum is the ideal destination for young children. Exhibits focus on early literacy, art, early STEM, health and the local community.

The Mohonk Preserve’s Visitor Center gives visitors an introduction to the Mohonk Preserve and the Shawangunks. Get hike suggestions, visit a butterfly garden, enjoy exhibits and activities for kids, or take a stroll.

Open year-round, Muscoot Farm is an early-1900s interpretive farm that offers a full schedule of programs for families, as well as group tours, farmyard visits and hayrides by reservation.

At Museum Village, an open-air historical museum, guests explore what daily life was like in 19th-century times.  The Village show the aspects of everyday living during a time of transition from a rural to an industrial culture.

The Neuberger Museum of Art at Purchase College features a collection of 20th century and contemporary works. Single and multi-visit tours can teach groups about the museum’s collections.

At the New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site from mid-April through October visitors will find costumed staff demonstrating musket drills, blacksmithing, military medicine and other 18th century skills.
