Liberty State Park features exhibits and programs focusing on the natural history and ecology of the Hudson River Estuary. Visit for spectacular views, interpretive programs, and miles of trails suited to recreational activities.

The Long Pond Ironworks Museum is a former country store in the area that were known to house 19th-century ironwork enterprises. It is part of the 175-acre historic district.

Montclair Museum through its large collection of American and Native American art, strives to understand artistic expression in historical and regional contexts. Its programs teach critical thinking in art and history through exploration of the visual elements and evolution of American art.

The Museum of Russian Art is a museum in Jersey City, New Jersey dedicated to exhibiting Russian art, particularly Soviet Nonconformist Art.

At the New Jersey State Botanical Garden wander amid the elegance of formal gardens, or along gentle paths winding through the woods. Group tours designed especially for children ages 8-12. 

The Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University administers the State House Express, which can help offset transportation costs for classes visiting the New Jersey State House. Awards are up to $750, based on need.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum includes 6 acres of natural woodlands and gardens, both historic and new. View 19th- and 20th-century gardens; historic exhibits, outdoor sculpture, and educational field trips, and seasonal activities.

Located at William Paterson University, The Shea Center for Performing Arts offers school time performances are culturally diverse and aim to make audience think. Enjoy adaptations of popular books, musicals, and more.

A 400-acre preserve, the Tenafly Nature Center is a great place for learning about and watching nature; with many natural areas for birdwatching, exhibits like the Butterfly House, and Pfister’s Pond.

The Jewish Museum of New Jersey is housed at Congregation Ahavas Sholom, one of the oldest continually active synagogues in Newark. It includes permanent and rotating exhibit space, a library and media center.
