Augustus F. Hawkins Nature Park is a 8.5-acre state-of-the-art natural park surrounded by the urban landscape of Southern California. A school or youth group trip includes a tour of the facility, an art/craft activity and a self-lead scavenger hunt.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) is a space for imaginations featuring outdoor and indoor exhibition spaces. Their programs are multidisciplinary – integrating science, art, math, & engineering design learning.

BAMPFA, the UC Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, is the visual arts center of the University of California, Berkeley. 

The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is a zoo in Big Bear Lake. It is one of two Alpine zoos in the United States. It specializes in rehab and release of local Alpine species and also has a permanent collection of animals in their zoo.

The Bonita Museum & Cultural Center houses the Bonita Historical Society and over 2,000 objects connected the region. The largest museum in South Bay San Diego dedicated to documenting the art, history and culture of the Sweetwater Valley.

The Botanical Building plantings include more than 2,100 permanent plants, featuring fascinating collections of cycads, ferns, orchids, other tropical plants and palms. The Botanical Building also presents some of the Park’s vibrant seasonal flower displays.
