Detroit Institute of Arts field trips provide students with lessons on history and culture that connect with learning outcomes. DIA Gallery Teachers use inquiry-based and student-centered teaching strategies to facilitate learning in the museum. A Gallery Teacher will work with you to make connections between the classroom and the museum’s collection.

Meaning Through Art-Making (Grades 3 - 8).Students engage in a facilitated, inquiry-based discussion of art in the DIA galleries, followed by art-making in the DIA Studio, motivated by questions related to their own knowledge, ideas, and experience.
