Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies
The Center for Coastal Studies mission is to conduct educational activities and provide educational resources that encourage the responsible use and conservation of coastal and marine ecosystems. CCS scientific expertise ranges from marine mammals, including whales, seals and their habitats, to geology and land-sea interactions, to water quality monitoring and habitat restoration. Activities adhere to the seven principles of ocean literacy to help students understand the tremendous importance and mystery of the ocean. Students can participate in lectures, outdoors activities like water testing or whale walks, as well as service projects.

Visit the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies to discover some of the mysteries of the ocean, as well as learn about responsible use and conservation efforts. CCS does a lot of good- they collaborate with local fishermen and government officials to remove harmful debris from the coats. They have also rescued dozens of whales and sea turtles from net entanglements. Visit and learn about the Gulf of Maine humpback whale that has been studied continuously by only CCS since the 70s, as well as marine geology.
