Students will enjoy a chartered trip on the Cape Cod Central Railroad’s Coastal Ecology by Rail Field Lesson Train. They’ll learn about the canal, glacial kettle hole ponds, freshwater swamps, and more. During the train ride, field naturalists from the Thornton W. Burgess Society will work with students as they:
• Observe animal habitats
• Record data from key stops along the track
• Write and sketch on grade appropriate observation sheets at each stop

On a chartered Coastal Ecology by Rail Field Lesson Train, field naturalists will work with scouts as they make observations about habitats, learn about the canal, and more. On the regularly scheduled Coastal Excursion Train, onboard narration will share interesting facts with riders.
