SCHOOL GROUP FIELD TRIPS
Adventure Bound has welcomed school groups to the Kennebec River in Caratunk, Maine for decades. Middle and high school students come for a day or overnight experience that most of them are still talking about when the school year ends.
Our programs are built for any school group, any class, and any experience level. Students aged 10 and up can raft class III and IV whitewater through the Kennebec Gorge, take on our high ropes course, hike through the Maine woods, and spend time together in a place that looks and feels nothing like a classroom. That combination does something for a group that is hard to manufacture any other way.
Our 40-acre riverside property offers a full range of activities and overnight accommodations, making Adventure Bound a natural fit for a single day field trip, an end of year class trip, a Project Graduation celebration, or a multi day overnight adventure. Every program is guided by Registered Maine Guides and built around your group's schedule, size, and goals.

Ever wonder how a small life jacket can keep your larger body afloat? An object displaces water, which pushes back and causes buoyancy (the more water you displace, the greater the force that pushes back). A life jacket is filled with a very light material, so it can displace a lot of water compared to its weight, meaning it will float high on top of the water and keep your head above the surface. Next time you take a rafting trip, think about the physics involved: learn about how things float, the force and torque from the water and paddle, and the logistics of crossing running water. Most guides can also give you interesting facts about the river in which you are rafting, its history, and its surrounding wilderness. Donāt stop asking questions!

CAMP GROUP FIELD TRIPS

Ideal for camp groups, and their chaperones, our unique facilities oļ¬er a range of amenities not typically found in wilderness camps. Your lodging fee includes access to a swimming pool, hot tub, hot showers, a spacious tented area with picnic tables, campļ¬res, volleyball court, disc golf, basketball court, soccer ļ¬eld, arcade, and free WiFi. We also have an indoor climbing wall available for an additional fee.
