Originally started to hold the Chicago Academy’s growing scientific collection, today the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum has hands-on animal and art exhibits that will bring out the naturalist in anybody. Exhibits such as Mysteries of the Marsh and the interactive RiverWorks are great ways to experience the complexities of nature, while the dioramas, butterfly greenhouse, and other displays let you get up close with animals and insects.
