Experience southern history at Hopsewee Plantation. Built circa 1740, some 40 years before the American Revolutionary War, Hopsewee Plantation was one of the South’s major rice plantations.

The Horry County Museum and the 17-acre L. W. Paul Living History Farm are designed to offer a glimpse into agriculture and domestic life, as it would have been on a family farm ca. 1900-1955.

Lake Conestee Nature Park consists of approximately 400 acres of beautiful natural habitat with hardwood and evergreen forest, extensive wetlands, 3 miles of the Reedy River, and a rich diversity of wildlife habitat and over 200 bird species.

The 7 1/2-acre Living History Park preserves the rural and industrial heritage of North Augusta with historic structures, gardens, shops, mills, and much more.

The 676-acre Lynches River Park park features a river swamp with towering cypress trees, sand hills, and a wide variety of vegetation. Activities include canoeing, hiking, geocaching, and an Environmental Discovery Center.

Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, Magnolia Plantation has survived for centuries and witnessed the history of our nation from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond.

Touring groups get to visit the fields on a tractor drawn wagon, pick their own depending on season, and learn about the history of the farm. Learn about farming practices, crop production, and some of the equipment on the farm.

Today McLeod Plantation is an important 37-acre Gullah Geechee heritage site that’s been carefully preserved in recognition of its cultural and historical significance.

History is a real experience within the walls of Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament’s 11th century-style castle in Myrtle Beach. Groups will step back in time to the glory of the Middle Ages.

Located on the Horseshoe of the USC Columbia Campus, the Melton Observatory contains a 16-inch Cassegrain telescope that provides a stunning view of the night sky for both research purposes and the general public.

Founded in 1741 and home to a signer of the Declaration of Independence, Middleton Place is a National Historic Landmark focusing on our shared American history.

Orbit Earth Expo is a SparkPoint Innovations in-school astronomy experience that students will never forget! Taught in the dark with a light to represent the sun, students manipulate huge teaching models to discover secrets of the solar system!
