The Mary Washington House and Rising Sun Tavern are both connected to President George Washington’s family. The St. James’ House was home to attorney James Mercer. The Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop is now a museum of medicine and military and political affairs. All of these sites were built in the 18th century.
