The first children’s museum in the world was the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, founded in 1899. Hundreds of children’s museums have opened in the United States since then. As of 2007, the Association of Children’s Museums estimated that there were approximately 80 children’s museums in development alone.

Students can have a self-guided field trip to the museum, and may also include a hands-on science or art project to their visit. Groups of 6 or more can register for a robotics program, with LEGO sets featuring motors and sensors. They will not only learn the basics of building and mechanics, but will also get to solve fun problems in a group environment.
