Year-round, multi-sensory experiences at Lehigh Valley Zoo offer school groups the opportunity to experience both hands-on scientific activities and live, close-up animal presentations that cover a wide range of biology and environmental studies topics. Students will learn about wildlife, nature, and conservation through nature hikes, species identification of animals collected from Jordan Creek, and more. Programs meet Pennsylvania Assessment Anchors and Eligible Content, as well as Common Core Standards. Programs incorporate STEM/ STEAM when applicable for grades K-12.

FIELD TRIPS

During Scout Events at Lehigh Valley Zoo, scouts can work on a variety of badges including Environmental Science, Bird Study, Hiker, Bugs, Overnight Camper, and more. Activities such as nature hikes, sky watching, and animal presentations allow scouts to build outdoor skills and learn about nature’s balance, tree identification, camouflage, conservation, and more. An overnight camping adventure is available for Junior Girl Scouts, which features camp fire experiences, night hikes, and other activities. Some scout programs combine guided zoo activities and independent work. Programs incorporate STEM/ STEAM when applicable for grades K-12.
