Children’s Museum of Science & Technology

The Children’s Museum of Science & Technology (CMOST) works to instill your students, scouts, homeschoolers, and campers with a lifelong desire to pursue science and technology. Enriching the lives of young learners in the Capital Region since 1954, the museum features eight interactive exhibits and six exhibits for groups to explore and engage with STEAM learning. CMOST offers field trip programs, after-school classes, outreach, and more. The Children’s Museum of Science & Technology is operated by SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.

The first children’s museum in the world was the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, founded in 1899. Hundreds of children’s museums have opened in the United States since then. As of 2007, the Association of Children’s Museums estimated that there were approximately 80 children’s museums in development alone.
