Students can take themed tours that explain what it was like to grow up in the mid-19th century, explore simple machines, and highlight the careers of the 1840s. Workshops at The Farmers’ Museum allow students to learn history through hands-on activities. In the 19th Century Life workshop, students can explore the art of blacksmithing, become a printer’s apprentice, weave a basket, learn the craft of quilling, and more. School groups can bring bagged lunches to eat the museum after their visit. Field trip transportation grants are available.
