Dance Performance Lesson Plan

Dance and human civilization bonded together since the ancient times. With each passing century, dance became a more important tool for maintaining our health, preserving social interactions, and celebrating the events and gods. Many dances were performed as a way to bond and communicate. In the early periods of time, dances were performed as part of large events such as ceremonies and festivals.

Since dance is not a physical artifact that can be examined, historians find it difficult to identify when exactly dance was invented.

Music Concert Lesson Plan

FUN FACTS

A concert is a live music performance in front of an audience. The performance may be by a single musician, sometimes then called a recital, or by a musical ensemble, such as an orchestra, choir, or band, before recorded music, concerts provided the main opportunity to hear musicians play.

Field trips to music concerts bring lessons on famous composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, and more to life. Groups will be able to hear and feel the music these composers created long ago while seated in world renowned concert halls.

We’re NJPAC, the anchor cultural institution for the city of Newark and the state of New Jersey.

As a nonprofit arts organization, we change lives every day. We delight audiences with world-class performances, nurture students through our comprehensive education program, and engage our local community with free events and festivals across the city.

We’re also pushing the boundaries of what an arts center can do. We’re proud to prioritize inclusion in every aspect of our mission, resulting in the most diverse audiences and artist lineups in the country. We’ve created and toured our own original productions that extend our reach to new communities. And we’re driving the charge to reimagine and revitalize our downtown neighborhood.
