Sacramento History Museum is the only museum devoted to Sacramento, California and California Gold Rush history. The Museum has hundreds of historic artifacts that tell the story of its history.

The Sacramento Regional Fire Museum preserves, exhibits and educates about the rich history of firefighters in the Sacramento region. The Museum preserves and displays, and providing education to the public on fire safety and the fire service by conducting educational programs.

Sacramento State Planetarium extends to K-12 field trips under their dome to explore our world, our solar system, and the universe at large. All planetarium shows are booked as 60-minute appointments and can include a variety of different programming options.

Sacramento Zoo has nearly 500 native, rare and endangered animals, representing more than 120 unique species to explore on a day field trip or come spend a night camping alongside the animals for a unique zoo experience.

Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum’s mission is the exploration and celebration of African American history, experiences and culture through art education and outreach. Exhibits include multicultural murals, education & Asian, African, Latino & Native American art.

Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park founded by a Swiss immigrant, John Sutter. He received a land grant from the Mexican government and used the land to build an agricultural establishment. Special events and school programs are held monthly.

The Leland Stanford Mansion State Historic Park is a historic mansion and California State Park, which serves as the official reception center for the Californian government and as one of the official workplaces of the Governor of California.

The Museum of Medical History showcases developments in medicine with a special relationship to our region.  Themed exhibits include: patent medicines and pharmacology, basic science and laboratory medicine, antibiotics and infectious diseases, medical diagnosis and therapy & more.

Verge Center for the Arts provides contemporary art and art resources to the Sacramento region through a combination of exhibitions, low or no cost artist workspace, and educational programming. Verge offers personalized group and school tours with reservations.
