The California Hall of Fame honors individuals and families who embody California’s innovative spirit and have made their mark on history. The hall and its exhibits are housed in The California Museum.

The California Museum, home of the California Hall of Fame, engages, educates and enlightens people about California’s rich history, its diversity and its unique influence on the world of ideas, innovation, art and culture.  

The California State Capitol is the seat of the Government of California. The building houses the chambers of the California State Legislature, made up of the Assembly and the Senate, a museum with exhibits along with the office of the governor. 

The California State Railroad Museum features 21 restored locomotives and railroad cars. Exhibits show how the influence of railroads changed American society, influencing travel, commerce and daily life.  Railroad excursions available.

The Crocker Art Museum is a fine arts museum that features the world’s foremost display of California art and is renowned for its holdings of European master drawings and international ceramics. 

The Don & June Salvatori California Pharmacy Museum is a small museum with thousands of pharmacy artifacts from the 19th century to the present. It preserves the history of California Pharmacy and educates the public regarding the usefulness of pharmacy in their lives.

Explorit’s goal is to spark curiosity and interest in science and  nature, through interactive, inquiry-based learning. Programs engage participants in actively doing science – formulate questions, devise ways to test them, make observations with everyday materials as well as the tools of science.

The California Governor’s Mansion is the official residence of the Governor of California. Built in 1877, the estate was purchased by the Californian government in 1903 and has served as the executive residence for 14 governors since. 

The SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity has themed exhibition galleries on health, nature, energy, water, engineering and space, plus a planetarium. Learn about science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).

At the Old Sacramento Schoolhouse Museum explore California’s early days of education in a living replica of a traditional one-room schoolhouse with hands-on activities with costumed interpreters.

The Sacramento Children’s Museum provides a place where children are encouraged to think for themselves, expand their problem-solving abilities through creative exploration, and exercise both their bodies and their minds.

Sacramento History Museum is the only museum devoted to Sacramento, California and California Gold Rush history. The Museum has hundreds of historic artifacts that tell the story of its history.
