Take a field trip to the New Jersey State Museum and explore exhibits that tell the story of New Jersey and beyond. Students can check out fossil preparation in the Paleo Lab, discover a timeline for the development of life on Earth, see works of art from the fine arts collection, explore the lives of native peoples and more. Available guided experiences include Jr. Paleontology, Shifting Seasons, Lenape, and more. School groups can also see a Planetarium show.

New Jersey State Museum

Since 1895, the New Jersey State Museum has been a destination for field trips and families to explore exciting exhibitions that tell the story of New Jersey and beyond - archaeology, the cultural history of NJ, American art, and natural history. Travel to outer space in a Planetarium show. Guided programs, workshops, and shows are available to groups of 15 or more. Museum admission always free, small fee for Planetarium shows and workshops.
