FIELD TRIPS
Each year, more than 6,000 elementary and middle school students from districts throughout northern Illinois participate in resident outdoor education programs at the Northern Illinois University Lorado Taft Field Campus. Programs range from half-day to four-night stays. While on campus, students will gain an appreciation, understanding and awareness of nature by studying and interacting with the natural world. Taft staff will work with your school to prepare a variety of activities and projects that take advantage of the area's natural surroundings. Activities may incorporate science and ecology, history, outdoor skills, games, team building, arts and crafts, and more.
