Vermont History Museum
The Vermont History Museum, located near the State House, offers exhibits on the Abenaki, Ethan Allen's Green Mountain Boys, the railroad, World War II, and much more. At the beginning of the museum, the 50-foot mural Salute to Vermont, welcomes visitors with three-and-a-half centuries of Vermont history, from Samuel de Champlain’s arrival in the Champlain Valley in 1609 to the development of Vermont’s ski industry in the late 1950s.
