ABOUT

Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center

Shaver's Creek offers educational environmental programs as well as tailored team building programs and retreats on 7,000 acres and contains 72-acre, freshwater Lake Perez. The trails at Shaver’s Creek wind through part of a 7,000 acre-sized area of woodlands, hillsides, and marshlands. School groups can meet live animals, experiment with interactive exhibits, and learn about how the things they find on the trail contribute to the native ecosystem. Trail programs can generally be customized to include indoor lesson stations at the Nature Center, which strives to help the environment by being a Zero Waste facility. If a field trip isn’t in the cards, the Traveling Naturalist outreach program offers hands-on demonstrations with animals at schools in the surrounding region. Shaver’s Creek also hosts Outdoor School for Pennsylvania upper-elementary students.
