The Art Museum of the Americas collects the visual arts of the American states, with a significant number of works reflecting the diverse artistic expression of the 20th century.

Del Ray Artisans is a community art center that strives to promote art. The art center has exhibited art of a variety of mediums, with a new exhibit on display almost every month.

The National Gallery of Art features everything from Byzantine altarpieces to pop art. Visitors can explore paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, photographs, and the Art Sculpture Garden.

The National Museum of Women in the Arts’ collection brings to light work by women artists dating from the 16th century to the present, including Renaissance paintings, photography, decorative arts and modern art.

The National Portrait Gallery combines aspects of U.S. history, biography, and art for a unique museum experience. The collection has thousands of works of art, dating from colonial times through present day; from paintings, prints, drawings, engravings, photography and work in digital media.

The Smithsonian American Art Museum shares its collection at  two locations in DC, at the SAAM’s main building and  the Renwick Gallery for contemporary craft and decorative art.

The Phillips Collection houses works from Impressionism to contemporary art. Hands-on programs are available; and virtual, multimedia exhibitions and behind-the-scenes looks.

Torpedo Factory Art Center houses a collection of working artist studios. Types of art include ceramics, paintings, photographs, jewelry, sculptures, stained glass, printmaking, and more.
